Chairman of Hastings and St. Leonards Chess Club, Paul Buswell will
organise pairings for a time handicap Swiss Chess tournament on Wednesday 30
March 7pm - £5 entry 6 rounds.
Registration 6.30-6.45pm at the Hastings Terrace
Club.
There will be two hostesses on hand to serve food and drink. A plate
of sandwiches will be provided by the club with liquid refreshment for
the Chairman.
The Chess tournament will be organised along similar lines to the Friday night
format at the Chess Club with ungraded players having 15minutes for all their
moves and players having a grade over 150 ECF grade having 5 minutes for all
their moves. Time adjusted accordingly 2mins for every (10 or 20) point grading
difference.
1st prize will be 40% of entry money and 2nd prize will be 15% of entry
money.There will be 2 ungraded prizes(or players having a grade of 100 or
less) of 30% of entry money and 15% of entry money. Only one prize can be
won/person. There may be mystery exrra prizes donated by chess club members.
Instruction is available after the tournament to anyone wishing to learn the basics of tournament poker.
